Job Summary

This role involves supporting the scientific development, implementation, and continuous optimization of modern analytical and testing methods within a regulated Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) environment. The Laboratory Expert will be a key member of interdisciplinary project teams, actively contributing to the technological development of pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and manufacturing processes. Day-to-day responsibilities include executing complex scientific investigations, independently planning and performing experiments, interpreting results, and conducting measurements for design verification and characterization of combination products. The ideal candidate holds a Master's degree in a natural science, engineering, or pharmaceutical field, or equivalent experience, coupled with professional experience in developing combination products, medical devices, and/or pharmaceutical packaging materials. Excellent German and English skills are essential for effective cross-functional collaboration.

Required Skills

Education

Master's degree in Natural Sciences, Engineering, or Pharmaceutical discipline (e.g., Physics, Mechanical Engineering, or Pharmacy with a technological focus), or comparable qualification. Alternatively, completed vocational training with many years of professional experience (ideally international).

Experience

  • Professional experience in developing combination products, medical devices, and/or pharmaceutical packaging materials
  • Experience in a GMP-regulated environment (preferred)
  • Experience working effectively in interdisciplinary project teams
  • Experience managing complex scientific investigations independently

Additional

  • Location in the Mainz-Bingen area, Germany. Full-time position. Initial contract duration is 24 months, with option for extension and permanent takeover. Work is primarily on-site, with possible one day of home office per week upon agreement.
