Job Summary

The Senior Scientist will join the expanding Analytical Development department in Munich-Martinsried, Germany, focusing on designing, developing, and implementing state-of-the-art mass spectrometry (MS) assays for characterizing therapeutic messenger RNA (mRNA). This technical leadership role involves leading the development and optimization of high-resolution LC-MS methods (e.g., Orbitrap, TIMS-TOF) to analyze intact mRNA, oligonucleotide fragments, and related impurities. A core function is translating research-grade methods into phase-appropriate, GMP-compliant assays, including drafting validation plans and analytical reports for critical regulatory submissions (IND/CTA, BLA/MAA). The successful candidate will act as a subject matter expert (SME), supporting regulatory filings and providing technical mentorship to junior scientists. This position requires a Ph.D. or equivalent experience in Chemistry or related disciplines, coupled with over 10 years of extensive experience in high-resolution MS, with a specific focus on nucleic acids.
