Job Summary

This remote position, open to candidates across Europe and the USA, involves leading the entire early-stage drug discovery process for a global pharmaceutical leader. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing Structure-Activity-Relationship (SAR) and Structure-Property-Relationship (SPR) strategies, and designing innovative compounds in medicinal chemistry. Key responsibilities include advancing lead structures, supporting molecular design, and integrating cross-functional data sources to drive decision-making. The role requires scientific leadership of projects focusing on cardiovascular, oncology, and immunology indications, and coordinating interdisciplinary project teams. The ideal candidate holds a PhD in organic or medicinal chemistry and possesses extensive, long-term experience in early-phase drug development, coupled with fluent German and English skills. Occasional business travel to company locations is required.
