Job Summary

This Executive Architect role drives the strategic and technological evolution of the Geographic Information (GeoInfo) business unit, serving as the primary digitalization partner for the German Armed Forces. The role involves designing and governing technical architecture, consulting on complex bids and implementation projects, and translating customer requirements into robust solution designs. You will be responsible for IT development planning, coordinating technical concepts, and ensuring the seamless integration of new solutions into existing system landscapes. Key qualifications include a degree in IT, over six years of professional experience in Service Design within complex IT environments (ideally government/military), and deep expertise in IT security architectures and frameworks like TOGAF and NAF. This position offers the opportunity to contribute directly to Germany's security by modernizing and operating one of the nation's largest IT infrastructures.

Required Skills

Education

Completed university degree with a strong focus on IT or equivalent professional training

Experience

  • Minimum 6 years of professional experience in Service Design within complex IT environments
  • Experience working with architecture frameworks such as TOGAF and NAF
  • Professional experience in technical concept development and testing scenarios
  • Experience in government or military IT environments (desirable)
  • Experience with GIS systems and ESRI products (desirable)
  • Experience in Requirements Engineering following IREB standards (desirable)
