Job Summary

This Senior IT System Engineer role is critical to the digitalization efforts of the German Armed Forces (Bundeswehr), focusing on maintaining stable, secure, and efficient IT services, often involving high-security classifications (VS-NfD and higher). The primary responsibility is the technical implementation of automated installation and configuration routines for server systems and applications, based on established service designs (LOM). Day-to-day tasks involve close coordination with service architects and architectural modelers (Sparx EA) to refine service designs and develop best practices and standards for automation within the GMN 1.0 framework. Candidates must possess approximately five years of relevant professional experience, strong expertise in PowerShell and DSC Scripting, and foundational knowledge of Microsoft Server environments (Exchange, SharePoint) and IT architecture principles (e.g., TOGAF). This is a unique opportunity to apply advanced scripting skills to modernize one of Germany's largest and most complex IT infrastructures, directly contributing to national security.
