Job Summary

This role seeks a Certified Engineering Technician to join the Federal Office for Radiation Protection (BfS), contributing to environmental safety and radiation monitoring. Key responsibilities include conducting mobile gamma-spectrometric measurements across a wide service area (including North Rhine-Westphalia, Hesse, and others) and ensuring the constant operational readiness of specialized measuring systems, IT data transmission equipment, and dedicated measurement vehicles. Furthermore, the technician will provide essential IT support, assisting staff with the effective and secure use of IT resources, performing technical analysis, and troubleshooting hardware and software faults within the IT infrastructure. Candidates must hold a State-Certified Technician qualification in Electrical Engineering or Physics Technology, possess strong organizational and social skills, and be proficient in standard software like Microsoft Windows and Office. This position offers a responsible, varied, and fixed-term role (24 months) within a federal authority, requiring readiness for travel and specific health suitability for radiation exposure.
