Job Summary

This full-time Research Associate / Postdoctoral Researcher role at the TUD Dresden University of Technology focuses on cutting-edge experimental condensed matter research within the Chair of Ultrafast Microscopy and Photonics. The successful candidate will conduct scientific research into optical and electronic phenomena in nanostructured condensed matter, particularly two-dimensional van der Waals semiconductors. Day-to-day tasks involve the setup and operation of advanced optical experiments, including magneto-optical microscopy, white-light spectroscopy, and time-resolved spectroscopy, alongside the fabrication and preparation of complex van der Waals heterostructures. Key qualifications include a PhD in Physics or a related discipline, deep expertise in magneto-optics, hybrid two-dimensional perovskites, and specialized knowledge of optical spectroscopy for van der Waals semiconductors. This position offers the unique opportunity to pursue further academic qualification, such as a Habilitation thesis, while working in an international team with access to state-of-the-art facilities and extensive collaboration networks.
