Job Summary

This role offers a unique opportunity as a Scientist/Postdoc to drive method development within the cutting-edge LOEWE network "Lipid Space," focusing on spatial lipid organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for utilizing and establishing advanced super resolution microscopy technologies, including running and maintaining instruments like the Nikon SIM/STORM and ONI Nanoimager. Day-to-day tasks involve developing novel stains and methods for visualizing lipids in fixed and living cells, combined with rigorous bioinformatic analysis and quantification of complex microscopy data using tools such as R, MATLAB, and FIJI. Key requirements include a PhD in a relevant scientific or engineering field (e.g., Cell Biology, Biophysics, Optical Engineering) and proven experience in advanced light microscopy. This position is highly attractive due to its integration into a vibrant research environment at the Frankfurt Cancer Institute and University Hospital Frankfurt, fostering high levels of interdisciplinary and international collaboration over a four-year limited contract.
