Job Summary

This role is central to shaping the strategic asset management of High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) and Flexible AC Transmission Systems (FACTS) by focusing on control behavior and regulation concepts. The engineer will develop strategies and technical principles for the control and regulation technology of these critical assets, especially in light of increasing power electronics, renewable energy integration, and the phase-out of conventional power plants. Day-to-day tasks include creating maintenance and software update strategies for control systems, conducting network calculations and simulations to evaluate asset performance, and representing company interests in internal and external committees. The ideal candidate holds a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, possesses a strong understanding of electrical power systems, and has expertise in network calculation tools like PowerFactory, MATLAB, or PSCAD, combined with fluent German and good English skills.

Required Skills

Education

Master's degree (Diplom) in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Power Engineering, or a comparable technical field

Experience

  • Professional experience in developing technical principles and asset strategies for HVDC and FACTS control systems
  • Experience conducting network calculations or simulations to assess control behavior of power systems
  • Experience supporting factory audits, manufacturer tests, or commissioning processes
  • Experience representing technical interests in internal and external committees
