Job Summary

The Regional Government of Cologne is seeking a Senior Technical Officer to lead a section within the Upper Water Authority (Department 54A), focusing on industrial and commercial wastewater disposal in the Rhineland region. This role is crucial for environmental protection and regional development, offering high levels of responsibility and social value. Day-to-day tasks involve personnel management and leadership of a team responsible for the authorization and monitoring of industrial and commercial wastewater discharges and treatment facilities. You will coordinate complex regulatory procedures, create expert opinions for adjacent legal areas (e.g., immission control, waste law), and handle supervisory tasks and external inquiries from ministries and citizens. Candidates must hold a Master's or Diploma degree in a relevant engineering or science field (such as Environmental Technology or Civil Engineering), possess strong knowledge of Water Law, and demonstrate initial experience in monitoring water management facilities. The position is initially temporary until September 2027, offering public sector stability and flexible working models, including up to 50% mobile work.

Required Skills
