Job Summary

This role seeks a highly motivated (Senior) Accountant to join a leading international commercial law firm in Munich. The core responsibilities include the comprehensive preparation of monthly and annual financial statements in accordance with the German Commercial Code (HGB). A significant part of the role involves managing various tax duties, including preparing declarations for VAT, payroll, income, and corporate tax, necessitating close cooperation with external tax consultants. Furthermore, the Accountant will lead crucial projects focused on optimizing existing bookkeeping processes and implementing new accounting regulations. Establishing and maintaining robust internal control systems to mitigate financial risks is also key. Candidates must possess a completed qualification as a Certified Accountant (Bilanzbuchhalter) or Tax Specialist (Steuerfachwirt), or an equivalent degree in economics with an accounting focus. Strong HGB expertise, experience with accruals and provisions, and good English skills are essential.
