Job Summary

This specialist role focuses on managing strategic procurement and quality initiatives for new digital products within ZEISS's Photonics & Optics division. The successful candidate will serve as the professional interface between global suppliers and internal stakeholders, including R&D, Engineering, and Category Management, ensuring seamless collaboration and execution. Key responsibilities involve defining and executing procurement scopes for complex electronic, electromechanical, and optical assemblies, ensuring compliance with quality, cost, and timeline requirements. You will analyze procurement markets, derive sourcing strategies, integrate supplier innovations into the product development process, and apply advanced quality methods like FMEA and Six Sigma. A critical component of the role is conducting Value Engineering and Target Costing analyses, leading high-volume price and framework negotiations to achieve defined savings goals.

Required Skills

Education

Degree in Technology or Natural Sciences with a focus on Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Information Technology, or a comparable field. ISO 9001 Auditor certification or comparable.

Experience

  • Several years in Supply Chain Management
  • Several years in Quality Management
  • Several years in Project Management for electronic components
  • Professional experience collaborating with global suppliers
