Job Summary
This permanent role involves the maintenance, development, and integration of complex IT and communication systems for civilian and governmental clients, including the German Armed Forces. Day-to-day responsibilities include the support, troubleshooting, and documentation of existing Windows and Linux environments (both client and server). The specialist will actively assist the Engineering team in conceptualizing, creating, and integrating new customer projects. A key function of the role is conducting system commissioning and acceptance tests directly with customers and quality inspectors. The ideal candidate must possess completed vocational training as an IT Specialist specializing in System Integration or an equivalent qualification, alongside several years of professional experience in IT project or internal support environments. Strong foundational knowledge of MS operating systems, Linux, and TCP/IP protocols, especially routing, is mandatory. Desirable experience includes virtualization (VMware), Cisco router/switch configuration, Firewall management, VoIP, and QoS. The position offers flexible working hours within an engaged team environment.
Required Skills
Education
Completed vocational training as an IT Specialist specializing in System Integration, or equivalent qualification.
Experience
- Several years of professional experience in IT (e.g., internal IT or Project IT)
- Professional experience in maintaining and developing IT/Communication systems
- Experience in system commissioning and conducting customer acceptance tests
- In-depth knowledge of MS Operating Systems (Client and Server) and Linux
