Job Summary

This role seeks a Specialist for Energy Procurement and Forecasting to drive the energy transition in Leipzig by developing and implementing precise forecasting models for electricity, gas, and district heating. The core responsibility involves utilizing advanced machine learning techniques, such as neural networks and transformers, to create accurate consumption predictions. The specialist will manage data flows, ensure quality assurance, and continuously monitor and optimize portfolio forecasts. A crucial part of the job is collaborating closely with the IT department to automate and digitize the entire forecasting process, supporting the continuous development of forecasting tools. Candidates must hold a university degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, or Business Administration, coupled with profound knowledge of the energy supply sector, market communication, statistics, and programming, ideally using Python. Experience with specific forecasting tools like BelVis is highly valued.
