Job Summary

This Postdoctoral Research Associate position at the Clinic for Dermatology's Research Center One Health Ruhr involves a key role in the Oncological Proteometabolomics group. The successful candidate will be responsible for the entire research lifecycle, including planning, managing, and executing complex research projects, specifically focusing on lysosomes and proteomics. Day-to-day tasks include performing advanced experiments using techniques like cell culture, western blot, and mass spectrometry-based proteomics (quantitative and phosphoproteomics), analyzing and visualizing large datasets, and writing high-impact research articles. A crucial part of the role is securing external funding through grant applications, managing research budgets, and supervising technical staff, as well as Bachelor, Master, and PhD students. Candidates must possess a completed PhD in a relevant life science field, strong expertise in lysosome research, cellular signaling, and excellent communication skills, making this an ideal role for an independent and experienced researcher seeking an open-ended contract in public service.

Ph.D. degree in (molecular/cell) biology, biochemistry, or a comparable field of study

Experience

  • Professional experience in lysosome research
  • Professional experience in cellular signaling with a focus on lysosomal processes
  • Professional experience in the analysis of lysosomes by mass spectrometry-based proteomics approaches
  • Experience in the supervision of personnel
  • Experience in third-party funding applications, laboratory, and financial organization/administration
