Job Summary
This Systems Engineer Electronics role, based in Friedberg (Frankfurt area), involves the conception and development of electronic control units (ECUs) for advanced automotive systems, such as trailer light signals and electrically retractable hitches. The position requires a deep understanding of electronics development combined with a system-wide view of requirements, interfaces, and functionality. Day-to-day tasks include deriving system requirements from OEM specifications, defining interfaces (CAN, LIN, Ethernet), developing schematics and layouts, selecting and qualifying components, and participating in validation and testing (EMC, environmental, functional). The successful candidate will act as a key interface, coordinating technically with internal teams (Software, Test, Quality Management) and external partners/suppliers, ensuring development adheres to ASPICE-compliant processes and automotive safety standards like ISO 26262 and Cyber-Security requirements. This is a full-time, permanent, hybrid position within a global technology leader.

- Professional experience in control unit development at the system level (System Requirements, System Architecture)
- 10+ years experience in hardware development for electronic assemblies in the automotive sector
- Foundational knowledge in System and Hardware development aligned with functional safety requirements according to ISO 26262 and current automotive Cyber-Security requirements
- Experience in managing and technically coordinating development services and electronics manufacturing activities within the supply chain
- Experience in development and verification according to ASPICE-compliant processes
- Experience in technical risk analysis, FMEA, FMEDA, and FTA
- Experience in customer contact, especially with OEMs
