Job Summary

This crucial role involves driving the advancement of Photonic Integrated Circuit (PIC) technology within a dynamic, corporate-backed startup environment at ZEISS. The successful candidate will focus on unlocking the immense business potential of PICs, which are vital for AI, faster communication, and novel sensors. Day-to-day responsibilities include designing and developing integrated photonic systems and components, conducting advanced simulations and modeling to optimize performance, and validating integrated photonic devices. You will collaborate extensively with cross-functional teams to define system specifications, identify project risks, and troubleshoot technical integration issues. Key requirements include a Master’s degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, or Microsystems Technology, coupled with several years of professional experience in the development or manufacture of PICs. This position demands strong analytical thinking, excellent communication skills, and fluency in both German and English.
