Job Summary

This fixed-term Scientist role is situated within Roche's Diagnostics R&D Research and Early Development (RED) organization, focusing specifically on Core Lab Systems. The successful candidate will take scientific responsibility for planning, executing, and evaluating work packages aimed at optimizing new diagnostic methods, with a strong focus on Mass Spectrometry applications. Day-to-day tasks involve independent preparation and execution of wet-lab experiments, generating and analyzing measurement results, and applying analytical thinking to validate the potential of optimized mass spectrometry approaches in diagnostics. Key qualifications include a PhD in Life Sciences or equivalent professional experience, multi-year practical expertise in Mass Spectrometry (LC-MS/MS), Proteomics, and deep knowledge of Protein Chemistry/Biochemistry. Experience

  • Completed PhD in Life Sciences OR relevant professional experience
  • Several years of practical experience in Mass Spectrometry (e.g., LC-MS/MS)
  • Profound practical experience in Protein and Peptide Analytics (Proteomics)
  • Deep specialized knowledge in Protein Chemistry/Biochemistry
  • Experience with derivatization methods for signal enhancement
  • Experience with patent searches (advantageous)
