Job Summary

This is a fixed-term Research Associate position in Power Electronics at the University of Rostock, dedicated to the critical project "GridConWilG." The primary focus is on developing and researching grid-supporting and grid-forming converter control concepts, which are vital for integrating renewable energy, particularly wind power, into the electrical grid. Day-to-day responsibilities include researching advanced control concepts, simulating the power section and control systems of converters, and testing these concepts at a laboratory scale. The ideal candidate holds a Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering with strong expertise in power electronics and control engineering. Prior experience with converter control for PV or wind energy systems is highly valued, along with familiarity with PSCAD and microcontroller/DSP programming. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute directly to the German energy transition, work within a supportive academic environment, and provides the possibility of pursuing a doctoral degree.
