Job Summary

This PhD Candidate role focuses on the development and realization of high-performance electrical drive systems at the Technical University of Munich. The core tasks involve the complete lifecycle of a prototype drive, including the electromagnetic, mechanical, and thermal design of electrical machines, setting up and operating specialized test bench systems, and developing necessary manufacturing processes. The candidate will also manage the research project and support academic teaching related to electrical drives. Key qualifications include an above-average Master's degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Mechatronics, coupled with strong knowledge of e-machine functionality, inverters, and simulation techniques. Experience in test bench technology and manufacturing processes is advantageous. Experience

  • Professional knowledge of the functionality of electrical drives (e-machines, inverters)
  • Experience in the modeling, simulation, and design of electrical machines
  • Experience in test bench technology and electrical drive measurement (preferred)
  • Practical experience in manufacturing technology and technology development (preferred)
