Job Summary

This role seeks an autonomous IT System Administrator specializing in Computational Systems Biology infrastructure, supporting an international EU project at the University of Hamburg. The core responsibilities involve comprehensive system administration across Linux and macOS environments, including user consultation, hardware/software selection, and managing essential services like accounts, backups, and databases. A major focus is placed on administering and developing High-Performance Computing (HPC) clusters and expanding bioinformatics infrastructure through automated systems and self-developed solutions. The administrator will also independently conceive, organize, and execute strategic IT projects, including the planning and migration of critical software systems (e.g., cloud systems, project servers, web services). Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent, coupled with at least three years of practical experience in system and server administration, excellent German skills, and proficiency in Python and PHP.
