Job Summary

This role involves serving as a Product Manager within the IT department of the North Rhine-Westphalia Police Service and Technology Authority, focusing specifically on E-Business Applications. The successful candidate will manage the entire product lifecycle, from conception and introduction through operation, maintenance, development, and eventual decommissioning of critical IT systems such as personnel management, applicant management, and time management systems. Key daily tasks include participating in product-related requirements management, gathering stakeholder expectations, preparing and conducting acceptance tests with users, and creating essential product documentation and reports. This position requires a background in Computer Science, Business Informatics, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent technical qualifications combined with relevant professional experience. Required Skills

Education

Bachelor's degree or equivalent higher education degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, Business Administration, or a comparable field; OR completed vocational training plus advanced qualification (e.g., State Certified Technician, Operative Professional, or comparable advanced training)

Experience

  • At least three years of relevant professional experience in the specified areas (if applying with vocational training and no higher education degree)
  • Professional experience in handling administration-supporting IT applications (desirable)
  • Experience in product lifecycle management
  • Experience in requirements gathering and stakeholder communication

  • Willingness to undergo a Security Clearance (SÜ 2); Residency in the Federal Republic of Germany or an EU member state for at least five years is required for security clearance; Permanent contract; Location in Duisburg.
