Job Summary

The City of Kaiserslautern is seeking a Civil Engineer to join its Road Construction and Civil Engineering department. This role involves managing complex road construction projects starting from HOAI service phase 6. Key responsibilities include creating detailed service specifications, performing quantity and cost calculations, technically reviewing bids, and formulating award proposals. The engineer will be responsible for project coordination and management, overseeing external engineering firms, and internal city departments, as well as handling construction management, site supervision, and contractual settlement of measures. Candidates must hold a university degree in Civil Engineering, possess deep knowledge of VOB (Contract Procedures for Construction Works), technical guidelines for road construction, and experience with tendering and billing software (iTwo or similar). Success in this position requires a self-reliant, engaged, and cooperative approach, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage project timelines and costs effectively.
