Job Summary

This role involves supporting cutting-edge scientific projects in therapeutic genome editing at the University Cancer Center (UCC/NCT), focusing on sequence-specific recombinases and CRISPR-based Base Editors (ABE). The assistant will be responsible for executing a wide range of molecular biology and cell culture experiments, including DNA isolation, PCR, Western Blots, and FACS analysis. A key component of the job is the preparation and analysis of samples, supporting flow cytometry and Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) procedures. The position also requires active participation in animal experiments, including independent execution of mouse studies. Candidates must possess a recognized certification in biological or medical technical assistance, solid practical experience with standard molecular biology techniques, and excellent written and spoken English skills. Required Skills

Education

State-recognized certification as a Biological Technical Assistant (BTA), Medical Technical Assistant (MTA), or comparable qualification in the molecular biology field; FELASA-B certificate required for animal experimentation.

Experience

  • Professional experience with experimental cell culture techniques
  • Familiarity with standard methods including PCR, flow cytometry, bacterial cultivation, cloning, and DNA sequencing
  • Solid practical experience in animal experimentation
  • Experience with transfection methods (advantageous)
