Job Summary

The Head of Network Department will lead and develop a team of network administrators within the University of Saarland's IT Center (HIZ), which serves multiple higher education institutions. This role involves comprehensive planning, conceptualization, and advancement of the university-wide network architecture, encompassing LAN, WLAN, and WAN. Key responsibilities include project leadership, optimizing network designs for high availability, performance, and security, and selecting new network technologies. The successful candidate will also be responsible for network security, managing external service providers, and creating strategic documentation.
